Villa del Balbianello

The wedding of your dreams is about to become a reality.

Villa del Balbianello was built at the end of the 18th century on the boundaries of the promontory known as “Dosso di Lavedo”. This gives the Villa its unique and privileged position with breathtaking views on the lake and the surrounding mountains. To accentuate its panoramic location, the builder of the Villa, Cardinal A.M. Durini, wanted a graceful loggia constructed above the villa. With its superb view and fascinating scenographic impact, the loggia of Villa del Balbianello has became one of the most famous symbols of elegance and romanticism on Lake Como, and a much sought after set for movies, advertisements and photo shoots. The Villa contains fine period furniture, artworks, a library, and a room dedicated to Guido Monzino, the last owner of the Villa, one of the best Italian explorers. The masterful garden is to Monzino’s credit, in which the different shades of green and trees can perfectly resemble the placid blue water of the lake, the asperity of the mountains and the vigorous character of Monzino that has no equal in the world.
